FAQ
Questions and answers
Everything parents and team volunteers ask about collecting season photos and making a fair end-of-season slideshow with Galamento.
The basics
What is Galamento?
Galamento makes the end-of-season slideshow for youth sports teams. You share one private link with the team's parents, they add photos from their phones all season, and you get a finished video for the banquet in which every child appears fairly.
Do parents need an app or an account?
No. Parents open the link in their phone's browser, pick their child from the roster once and add photos. Only the organizer signs in, with a link sent by email. There are no passwords.
How long does setting up a season take?
About two minutes: team name, sport, the banquet date, then paste your list of first names. You get a link, a QR code and a ready-made message to paste into the team chat.
Which sports does it work for?
Any team sport and any squad sport, from swimming and gymnastics to soccer, rugby, hockey, netball and cheer. There are four video styles: Splash for water sports, Pitch for field sports, Rink for indoor and ice sports, and Classic for anything.
Fairness and the video
How do you make sure every child appears?
Parents tag photos with their own child as they upload, and can tag teammates too. The coverage list shows how many photos each child has. When the video is built, every child gets the same minimum number of appearances first; only then are the remaining spots filled with the best shots.
What if a child has hardly any photos?
The coverage list flags them early and gives you a friendly reminder to paste into the group chat, such as "We still need a few photos of Mia!". If a child still has fewer photos than the target, the video uses every good one there is and tells you about the shortfall.
How long is the video, and what about music?
The video is fitted to its track, usually about three minutes. A track that suits your video's style is picked for you; you can choose another from a curated library of music licensed for this use, and the credits are added for you. You can also pick No music and play your own.
Can I change the video before it is final?
Yes. The editor plays a live preview in your browser. Swap or remove photos, change titles and chapter names, reorder, pick another style or track, and set where each photo should focus. Nothing is final until you press export.
What does the free plan include?
Up to 150 photos, one final video in 720p with a small "made with" end card and corner mark. Paid plans remove the mark, export in 1080p and allow more photos and more final exports.
Privacy and safety
Do you use face recognition?
No, never. There is no face recognition or face detection anywhere in Galamento. Children are matched to photos by their parents' tags, the organizer's edits and the numbers printed on their jersey.
Who can see the photos?
Only people with the team's private link: the parents and the organizer. Seasons are never listed in search engines and there is no public gallery. You can add a PIN to the link for extra peace of mind.
What about children without photo consent?
Mark them "no photo consent" on the roster. Photos tagged with that child are hidden from other parents and are never used in any video, family reel or thumbnail.
Is location data removed?
Yes. GPS position and other hidden details are stripped on the phone before a photo is uploaded, so they never reach us.
Is AI used on the photos?
Only to judge quality: focus, the kind of moment, printed shirt numbers and anything inappropriate for a youth sports setting, which is hidden automatically. AI is never asked who is in a photo, how old anyone is or what they look like.
Paying
Is it a subscription?
No. You pay once per season, and only if you want more than the free plan. Team is $39 and Team Plus is $79. You can start free and upgrade at any time without losing anything.
Can I get a refund?
Yes, if you ask within 14 days of purchase. A season plan is refunded in full if no final video has been exported with it, a Family Reel before the reel has been made, and a Club Pass before any season it covers has had a final video exported. Use the link in your Paddle receipt or email support@galamento.com; Paddle, our reseller, handles all orders and refunds. See the Refund Policy.
What is a Family Reel?
A short video of one child, in portrait for phones and landscape for the TV, made from the photos tagged with them. On Team seasons each family can buy their own for $12; on Team Plus every family gets one included.
We run lots of teams. Is there a club price?
The Club Pass covers up to 10 seasons with everything in Team Plus for $249, managed from one club account.
