Privacy - what we store and who sees what

First names only, no face recognition, location removed on the phone, private links with an optional PIN, and AI used for photo quality only.

Photos of children deserve care. Here is what happens to them, in plain words. The full detail is in the privacy policy. The season page shows a short version of this, Your family's privacy, each time you choose your child.

What we store

  • Children: first names only (with an initial if two match), an optional jersey number, and whether they have photo consent or are seniors. No surnames, no birthdays.
  • Photos: smaller copies made on the phone, with the date they were taken. Location (GPS) and other hidden details are removed on the phone, before upload.
  • Parents: no account. A cookie on your phone remembers which season you joined and which child you chose.
  • Organizers: email address for signing in (with Google or with an email link), and payment records kept by Paddle.

Who can see the photos

Only people with the season link (and the PIN, if there is one): the team's parents and the organizer. Seasons never appear in search engines and there is no public gallery. Photos of children marked "no photo consent" are hidden from everyone except the organizer.

No face recognition

Galamento never scans, detects or recognises faces. Children are matched to photos by the tags parents add and the jersey numbers printed on their kit.

How AI is used

Each photo is checked automatically for quality (focus, the kind of moment), for printed shirt numbers, and for anything inappropriate in a youth sports setting. The check is never asked who is in a photo, how old anyone is or what they look like. It runs inside our hosting provider, Cloudflare.

Cookies

We use only the cookies needed to run the site, plus privacy-friendly analytics where you allow it. See the cookie policy.
