After the photo deadline (or when you press Build my video now) Galamento builds the first cut. Nothing is final until you export, and you can change everything in the editor.
Which photos can be used
Photos are left out if they are hidden, reported, flagged by the safety check, deleted, or tagged with a child marked "no photo consent".
Duplicates and quality
Bursts and near-identical photos taken within a couple of minutes of each other are grouped, and the best one is kept: sharp, well lit and full of action or joy. Very dark or blurry photos rank lower.
Every child first
The number of photos that fit depends on the length of the music: about three minutes of the track suggested for your style, or of the track you pick (three minutes with no music). Every eligible child gets the same minimum number of appearances first (two, or three when there is room). Photos that show several children count for all of them. Only then do the best remaining photos fill the rest, spread across the season so no single game dominates.
If a child does not have enough photos, the video uses every good one there is and the editor tells you about the shortfall.
Chapters
Photos are grouped into chapters wherever there is a gap of more than a day and a half, so games, tournaments and trips become their own sections. Chapter titles are suggested from the dates and the kind of moments; rename them in the editor.
The finished structure
- Title card with the team and season (and your logo on Team Plus and Club).
- Chapters of photos, cut on the beat of the music.
- Roll call: every first name on the roster.
- Tribute to your leavers (Team and above).
- Credits, including the music's attribution, and on the free plan a small end card.
Text never overflows the screen, and portrait photos are shown with a soft blurred background rather than stretched.
