Photo request message for your prizegiving video

Pick the kind of message and where it will go. Add the deadline and, for reminders, the children who still need photos. Then copy it into your group chat, email or team app.

Leave it empty and paste the link into the message later.
Hi everyone! We’re making a video of Harbour Kiwis U9’s season for the prizegiving, and we’d love your photos. We’re using Galamento, so there’s no app or account to set up. Open the link, pick your child once, then choose your photos. Photos of teammates are welcome too. Add photos here: [your season link] Photos are only visible to the team, and only first names are used. Thank you!

How it works

Parents respond to messages that are short, specific and friendly. A clear deadline helps, and so does saying exactly what to do: open the link, pick your child, choose photos.

Reminders work best when they name the children who still need photos, in a positive way. Families of those children usually find a few more, and other parents often have photos of them too.

Keep the link private to the team. Post it in the parents' group or team app rather than on public social media, and mention that only first names are used.

Let Galamento do the counting

Share one link and parents add photos all season. The coverage list shows who still needs photos, and the video is built fairly for the prizegiving.

Questions

How many reminders should I send?

Usually three messages are enough: the first ask at the start of the season, a reminder halfway through naming the children who still need photos, and a last call a few days before the deadline.

Is it all right to name children in a reminder?

Naming first names in the team's private group is normal and effective. Keep it positive, as in "We still need a few photos of Mia and Leo!", and never use surnames.

Which wording does the message use?

The New Zealand version: the event is called the prizegiving, and spelling follows local use. Switch country at the bottom of the page for another version.
