Music, credits and the free plan's end card

Where the music comes from, why you cannot upload your own song, how attribution works and what the free plan adds to the video.

The music library

Every track comes from a curated library of instrumental music by Kevin MacLeod (incompetech.com), licensed under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0. That licence lets you play the video at the prizegiving and share it, as long as the composer is credited, which Galamento does for you in the end credits.

Tracks are grouped by mood: uplifting, emotional, energetic and playful. The video is fitted to the length of the track, with cuts on the beat.

The track picked for you

Every video has music unless you turn it off. Until you pick a track, Galamento uses the one suggested for your style: uplifting for Splash, energetic for Pitch and Rink, and emotional for Classic, with a natural ending close to three minutes. If you change the style, the suggested track changes with it. Pick any other track in the editor's Music card, or No music; your choice stays until you change it.

Why not my own song?

Commercial songs are licensed for listening, not for putting into videos that are shared. To keep your video safe to share, the library only contains music we are allowed to use this way. If you want your own song at the prizegiving, choose No music in the editor before you export and play the song separately from your own device.

Credits

The credits name the track, the composer and the licence automatically. Please do not remove them if you edit the file afterwards.

The free plan's end card

On the free plan the video has a small "Made with Galamento" card at the end and a small mark in a corner, and exports in 720p. Any paid plan removes both and exports in 1080p.
